Thinking about our theme for this week………next Saturday one of our PTA members Simon Marjoram will be taking part in the London to Brighton Challenge and will run 62 miles (100km) in one of the UK's great endurance events. This half term's core value: Perseverance

Theme for this week (11-15 May): ‘Perseverance and self belief’

The GCSE written exams start this week and we wish our Year 11 students all the very best for them. Before the morning exams there is free breakfast and the subject teachers will be in the Dining Hall to provide last minute encouragement and support.

We also think similarly this week of those children in Year 6 in our feeder Primary Schools who sit their SAT’s tests. In the new academic year we will be welcoming children from 11 different Primary Schools. Clearly the ASHS word is spreading far beyond our local cluster!

This half term's core value: Perseverance

Theme for this week (5-8 May): ‘God’s persevering love’

Thanks to everyone who supported our fund raising day last week in aid of the Brain Tumour charity. Although the final total is yet to be calculated it looks as though we have raised our highest amount ever at ASHS. Please see the excellent press article in this week’s Diss Express .

This time next week we will be aware of the result of the general election after the months of campaigning. I received from the National Society some very useful information on ‘Education and the election’ that you may also find very informative.  Mr Player will be focusing his assemblies this week on the role of democracy in our society and the importance of using your votes.
