Theme for this week (25-29 April): ‘Inheriting a wisdom- applying values’

Congratulations to Mr Connelly, Mr Player and Mrs Holloway, our three ASHS marathon runners, for their incredible achievement on Sunday in London with all of them completing the course in under 4.5 hours. They have raised in excess of £9,500 for their respective charities.

My thanks too to the Year 11 Drama students who are preparing their First World War dramas. Drama has always been one of our strengths and it was very clear to see why given the exceptional standard. Those Year 11's taking GCSE PE also need to feel proud as they performed in front of the external examiner on Friday who commented that "it was the highest standard that I have seen in the 4 years I have been examining at ASHS".

This week we look forward to having The Springs Dance Company with us in school performing to students in Years 7-9.

I was delighted to hear about the success of the recent Harleston Players drama performance involving so many of our students and that of Harleston Magpies Hockey U12’s boys who are through to the National Finals in May.  Sports and the arts are still a key part of life at ASHS!

On Sunday Mr Connelly, Mr Player and Mrs Holloway will take part in the London Marathon. I shall be down there to cheer them on and we wish them every success in this incredible sporting challenge. Look out for them on TV!
