This Week at ASHS #27: ‘Facing our fears with courage'
by R Cranmer - Monday, 31 March 2014, 8:54 AM

This half term's core value: Courage

Theme for this week (31 March- 4 April): ‘Facing our fears with courage'

Thank you to everyone who made our latest cross curricular event so successful for Years 7,8 &9. The 'Celebration of Afro-Caribbean Culture' day last week was a resounding success thanks in main down to the leadership of the four Year 9 students who planned and led the day: Lydia Hallsworth, Yvette Tyler, Harriet Gateshill and Joshua Walford-Cook.

On Friday of this week there will be a cake and fruit sale to help raise funds for the Year 11 Prom and Mr Connelly's marathon charity

Events this week:

  • Monday - Science trip to Lopham Fen. PTA meeting in the Sancroft Centre 7.30pm (all welcome)
  • Wednesday - Year 10 Parents Evening 4.30-7.00pm
  • Friday - Fund raising Non- uniform day.

Advance notice:

·         23rd April- Year 8 Parents Evening

Have a very Happy Easter!

This Week at ASHS #26: ‘Our Mother’s courage’
by R Cranmer - Monday, 24 March 2014, 2:53 PM

This half term's core value: Courage

Theme for this week (24-28 March): Our Mother’s courage

Thank you to all who performed at the ASHS Rock Concert last week- it was a wonderful evening. This coming week we have second ‘multi-cultural day’ following the success of the Chinese day last year. The big difference this year is that some of our own students in Year 9 have planned and co-ordinated the whole day.

Mr Connelly is training hard in the run up to the London Marathon. Please give generously to his charity

Events this week:

  • Monday- Year 8 to see a live stream of ‘War Horse’ production in Norwich at Cinema City
  • Wednesday- School open for Year 10&11 only due to strike action (see letters to Parents). Year 8 Parents Evening postponed to 23rd April.
  • Thursday- ASHS Afro-Caribbean multi-cultural awareness day for Yrs 7, 8 &9
  • Friday- Year 9 deadline for submitting option choices

Advance notice:

  • 4th April- non uniform day and cake sale for Clic Sargent and the prom fund.
